The Philippines' National Book Development Board (Filipino: Pambansang Lupon sa Pagpapaunlad ng Aklat), abbreviated as NBDB, is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of Education responsible for developing and supporting the Philippine book publishing industry.
National Achievement Tests Scheduled on March
The National Achievement Test (NAT) for Grade Three, Grade Six and Second Year High School students is scheduled on March 2010.
The Department of Education, in cooperation with the National Education Testing and Research Center, will conduct the National Achievement Test (NAT) for Grade Three on 3 March 2010, . The test for gGrade six students will be on March 5, and for Second year high schoolstudents on March 11.
The tests for Grade six and Second Year high school students will be administered in both public and private schools nationwide, while the tests for Grade three students will be given to public schools only.
The NAT is administered in order to gauge the understanding and knowledge of students' learning with the aim of determining deficiencies which need additional attention as well as guiding DepEd in formulating policies relative to the progress of Filipino students, especially in public schools. at their level. The NAT for Grade tThree includes Grammar and Reading Comprehension in English and Filipino, as well as sScience and Mathematics. The test for Grade Six focuses on Mathematics, English, Science, Filipino and HEKASI. The Second Year high school NAT includes examination in subjects including Mathematics, English, Science, Filipino and Araling Panlipunan.
Conducting the NAT aims to determine the deficiencies of students which need additional attention and also to guide the department in formulating policies relative to the progress of Filipino students, especially those in public schools.
